Dear Kesher Israel Members,
Please join us at Kesher Israel for live High Holiday services and support each other in the New Year. This is the most perilous time in Jewish history since the Holocaust. That is not an exaggeration; Antisemitism is widespread across the world!
Your presence on Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur is a tremendous expression of solidarity and support against antisemitism, and all forms of hatred and indecency. Your voice gives strength to our prayers and blessings for Israel, the remaining hostages, and their families, as well as the safety of our own families.
Please join us when Rosh Hashanah services will be conducted in our sanctuary beginning Thursday, October 3, and Friday, October 4. Kol Nidre and Yom Kippur services will be held Friday evening, October 11, and Saturday, October 12, 2024.
Rabbi Mitchell Romirowsky, Chazzan Steve Friedell, and Gabbai Uri Shoham will be working together to provide everyone with meaningful High Holiday Services.
Once again, we will have security guards to ensure your safety. We will adhere to all safety precautions. There will be a separate seating area for congregants who want to wear masks.
We will also provide childcare so that parents and relatives can take time to pray in shul.
We will not be having virtual services this year. Kesher means community, and this year we will all pray together in our beautiful synagogue, and have our voices heard. Your presence strengthens our common hope for the hostages’ safe return.
Please fill out and return the enclosed membership form for the Jewish New Year 5785. Please return the forms with your payment by September 10, 2024. If you need childcare, indicate on the form the number of children under age 6, who will be coming to Kesher.
Please join us and listen to 100 blasts of the shofar and let that familiar sound of “Tekiah!” bring joy and spiritual comfort as we renew and restart our lives for the new year.
We need your presence at Kesher Israel! Each of you contributes to our overall strength and warmth. Let us all begin 5785 together at Kesher Israel and encourage one another, as we chant the prayers that have sustained us for thousands of years.
Sincerely,
Historic Congregation Kesher Israel Board of Directors
