Shalom!
It is with tremendous excitement, humility, and gratitude that I write to you as your new rabbi. I feel deeply honored to join this community at such an important moment in its history. Every congregation has defining chapters, and I believe we are beginning a new one together.
The Book of Ecclesiastes reminds us:
“There is a time to tear down and a time to build up.”
I believe that this is our time to build up—to strengthen our sacred community, deepen our connections with one another, celebrate our traditions, and create an inspiring future together. Building is not simply about programs or plans; it is about people. It is about relationships, shared purpose, and the belief that together we can create a congregation where every individual and every family feels valued, welcomed, and at home.
I also recognize that seasons of transition can bring uncertainty. Change is rarely easy, especially in a congregation with such a rich history and deep traditions. Yet Judaism has always taught us that growth requires chutzpah. While we honor and cherish all that has come before us, we must also embrace the opportunities that lie ahead. I have tremendous confidence that, together, we can grow this community, renew its vibrancy, expand its reach, and ensure that Historic Kesher Israel continues to be a thriving center of Jewish life for generations to come.
One of the things I look forward to most is getting to know each of you. I want to hear your stories, learn about your families, understand what this congregation has meant in your lives. Only then can we discover its true future potential.
A little about me: I have been privileged to serve as a rabbi for almost seven years now and was the spiritual leader at Temple Sinai of Cinnaminson in New Jersey. I am a graduate of the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College and have had the honor of serving as a chaplain at Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia and with the Mount Laurel Police Department in New Jersey. These experiences have taught me the importance of being a faith leader during life’s most meaningful moments—times of celebration, comfort, and challenge.
Above all, my greatest joy is my family. I am a loving husband to my wife, Rachael, and a proud father to our son, Ari, who constantly reminds me to see the world with wonder, curiosity, hope, and fun!
As we begin this journey together, I want you to know that my door (and cell phone) are always open. I look forward to praying with you, celebrating with you, supporting you, and working alongside you as we shape the next chapter of our congregation’s incredible story.
Thank you for welcoming my family and me into your community. I cannot wait to meet each of you in the weeks and months ahead.
